About these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of libertytaxcpas.com and our online tools, including quote.libertytaxcpas.com and apply.libertytaxcpas.com (together, the “Site”). The Site is operated by Liberty Tax Advisors LLC (“Liberty Tax Advisors,” “we,” “us”), a certified public accounting firm licensed by the Florida Board of Accountancy (license AC63300). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

 

No professional advice until we are engaged

Information on the Site is general and is not tax, accounting or legal advice for your situation. Using the Site, requesting a quote or contacting us does not create an accountant-client relationship. Professional services begin only under a signed engagement letter or, for extension-only requests, the terms accepted through our online form. If the Site conflicts with your engagement letter, the engagement letter controls.

 

Quotes and fees

Our quote tool provides an estimate based on the information you provide. Quotes are valid for 30 days, and some items may require review before pricing is confirmed. Your final fee is stated in your engagement letter. If your circumstances differ from the information provided, we will confirm any fee change before performing additional work.

 

Your information and secure document exchange

You agree to provide accurate and complete information. We provide a secure client portal for documents, which may also be delivered in person or by mail. Do not send Social Security numbers or tax documents by email or through Site forms. Please use the secure portal. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and protect personal information.

 

Confidentiality of tax return information

We do not use or disclose your tax return information for any purpose other than preparing your return and providing the services you engage us for, except as the law permits or with your written consent, as required by section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code.

 

Electronic communications and signatures

We may communicate with you electronically by email and, if you provide a mobile number, by text message. Message and data rates may apply, and you may reply STOP to opt out of texts. Electronic signatures, including names typed into our online forms, have the same effect as handwritten signatures. You may request to sign on paper at our office instead.

 

Invoices and payments

We issue invoices and accept payments through QuickBooks, a service of Intuit Inc. Payment information is handled by Intuit under its own terms and is not stored by us. As stated in our engagement letters, returns are filed only after payment is received.

 

Services we rely on

We use trusted service providers, including Microsoft, SmartVault, DocuSign and Intuit. When you use their services, such as the client portal, signing pages or payment pages, their terms and privacy policies also apply.

 

QuickBooks connection: end user license terms

Liberty Tax Advisors LLC operates an internal software connection between our business systems and our QuickBooks Online company. It is used only by our staff to create and send invoices and record payments. It is not licensed, sold or made available to others and never connects to a client’s QuickBooks company. Its use of data is limited to the invoice and payment records described here.

 

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site. This includes submitting false information or another person’s information without authority, attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems, interfering with the Site’s operation, and copying or collecting its content by automated means.

 

Ownership of content

The Site’s content, design and tools, and the Liberty Tax Advisors name and logo, belong to Liberty Tax Advisors LLC. You may view and print pages for your own personal use. Any other use requires our written permission.

 

Links to other sites

The Site may link to sites we do not control, such as the IRS. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

 

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Site and its tools are provided “as is.” We aim to keep them accurate and available but do not guarantee error-free or uninterrupted operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Liberty Tax Advisors LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the Site. Professional services remain governed by your engagement letter and applicable professional standards.

 

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute about the Site will be resolved in the state courts located in Collier County, Florida, or in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

 

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version, and changes apply from that date.
